back from Cotonou

March 29th 2007

This trip was the most successful one so far. By now I have a well established net of buyers in Cotonou who scout the region from there to the north of Benin as well as to the capitals of neighboring countries Nigeria, Togo and Ghana.

Most days were spent cruising around Cotonou on the back of Abel's scooter:

One of the highlights was meeting Gilles, the son of Gnonnas Pedro who you can see below with a friend, holding two of his fathers records

I also met Gustave Bentho, the bass player from Poly Rythmo but I didn't bring my camera that day... next time!

Here are some of the LPs I found:

Some of the 45s, I'm only posting the ones with picture sleeves:

I'll start working on a new mix next week!

Servus,

gute Ausbeute!

Die Tohon Stanislas habe ich auch, aber leider in schlechter Condition. Ebenso die Melome Clement, welche ich auf jeden Fall besser finde. Wie ist die Christy Essien? Würd mich mal interessieren...

Gruß

Kristian

the Christy Essien LP is really good... two strong club tracks, one of which will be featured on the next mix!
