I always knew this would happen
I just got robbed at knife point 30 minutes ago.
Pretty scary, in the middle of a rainy street with nothing but luck separating myself from watching my guts floating down the drain.
I'm fine, about 200 dollars worth of Francs CFA are gone but I'm unharmed.
I guess that's what you're asking for if you're trying to be too down and take scooter taxis through non-tourist territory late at night.
I feel just so lucky to be unharmed...
time for a couple of hard drinks at the hotel bar.
...shiiit!
Final results from my current digging tour through Benin will follow within the next few days.

Thank God you're okay... we'll be praying for you.
Sorry bro, I respect your bush crate digging activities, but come on - getting killed by some strangers in a dirty street for 200 hundred dollars? On the other side risking your life for some dogs, I can understand it till some point, but...
Maybe you should lay back a while.. ;-)

Thanx for the support...
this was mostly my own fault, it was just a bad idea to move by scooter taxi late at night. It's not easy to get a car in Cotonou and scooters are cheap. I've been (attempted to be) mugged before but this time it was the scenery of an empty, dark and rainy street plus the sight of this crude homemade knife with a big ragged blade and tape wrapped around the handle that got me shook up a bit.
greetings .. i've just stumbled here .. grabbing some of the mixes right now - looking forward to hearing them .. sounds like you're having a right ol' journey out there hunting for slabs of the wonderous vinyl
peace out
