MARY AFI USUAH "Ekpenyong Abasi"

Listen to sound clips and order it over at Honest Jons

A big thank you goes out to Uchenna Ikonne of Comb & Razor fame and this time not only for his invaluable help in getting this record licensed directly from Mary's family but also for writing the incredible liner notes for the album. There's a unique reason why there was no better man for the job than Uchenna - Mary Afi Usuah was his professor at the Theater Arts department of the University of Calabar.

Forced Exposure (used to love their magazine back in the 80s...)

Any plans on releasing a book of album, 45 art?

Yes Dave, I've been working on that idea for years now and it'll take a couple more years since I still keep getting in more amazing stuff all of the time... but it will happen, one day...

Amazing news! I was just looking through some of my Soul Jazz books and realized how important it would be due to the rarity of a lot of the records you have. Best of luck.
